Perbedaan visual batik Jepara masa R.A. Suci dengan sekarang koleksi "Nalendra Galeri"
Track record of Jepara batik dates back to the time of R.A Kartini. Then continued by her student, R.A. Suci, and now developed by Nalendra Gallery. The development of the times makes the existence of Jepara batik more advanced, but also has an impact on the lack of batik knowledge, especially during the time of R.A. Suci. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to find out the differences in batik visuals between different periods and the development of Jepara Batik in Nalendra. Method used in this research is a qualitative method (literature study and field study) to obtain comparative data about Batik R.A. Suci with the Nalendra Gallery collection. The difference is assessed from the visual (shape, motif and colour), resulting in comparative data of batik of the R.A. Suci period with batik from the Nalendra collection. Results of this study show differences in characteristics, R.A. Suci's batik refers to classical batik with a combination of Inland and Coastal motifs. Has plant ornaments, mahameru, pohon hayat and animals, classic colours from natural dyes. Meanwhile, Suyanti's batik refers to Coastal batik with motifs adopted from carvings, artefacts, and Jepara icons. Has free and diverse Isen and colorful from synthetic dyes. Then, through Suyanti's strategy in striving for sustainable batik skills in Jepara, resulting in improvements that are adapted to modernisation and the times.
